About Glenigan
Glenigan is powered by Hubexo. We provide construction sales leads, data and intelligence that help customers spot opportunities earlier, understand their market and win more work.
Construction businesses need timely, accurate insight to identify opportunities, target the right projects and make better commercial decisions. Glenigan helps customers find projects earlier, track activity in their market and build stronger sales pipelines.
The role
As a Business Development Manager, you will speak with B2B decision-makers across the construction market and help them understand how Glenigan can support their commercial growth.
You will build pipeline through proactive outreach, intelligent prospecting and clear discovery conversations. You will qualify opportunities properly, understand customer drivers and move deals forward with pace and control.
This role suits someone who enjoys new business sales, knows how to create momentum and wants to be measured on real commercial outcomes. You will be supported by training, coaching, marketing activity and a team environment where ambition is encouraged and success is shared.
What you'll be doing
- Build pipeline through proactive outreach and intelligent conversations with B2B decision-makers
- Qualify opportunities properly, uncover commercial drivers and progress deals with pace and control
- Deliver confident, value-led demos that connect Glenigan's capability to the customer's goals
- Create clear, commercial proposals that make the value and next steps easy to understand
- Maintain at least three times pipeline cover against your quarterly target
- Keep Salesforce clean and current so your activity, pipeline and forecast are credible
- Handle objections, negotiate with discipline and close new business consistently
- Collaborate with Marketing and the wider Sales team, sharing insight that improves targeting, messaging and conversion
- Manage a consistent weekly rhythm across outreach, discovery, demos, proposals and follow-up
- Use coaching, feedback and performance data to keep improving
About you
- You have experience in B2B sales, business development, inside sales, telesales or a similar commercial role
- You enjoy new business and are confident opening conversations with people you have not spoken to before
- You are motivated by targets, commission and seeing your performance improve
- You can build consistent weekly output, not occasional spikes
- You are comfortable speaking with decision-makers, asking questions and uncovering commercial drivers
- You can deliver demos or customer conversations that focus on value, not features alone
- You understand the importance of accurate CRM records and credible forecasting
- You are resilient, organised and able to manage a busy pipeline
- You can talk through your numbers, your wins and where you want to improve
Experience in construction, building products, data, SaaS, market intelligence or subscription sales would be helpful, but it is not essential if you are willing to learn the market.
What you can expect
- Uncapped commission, with clear and achievable earning potential
- OTE of £56,500 in Year 1 and £70,300 in Year 2
- Comprehensive sales training and coaching to help you improve quickly
- A clearly defined progression path
- A supportive, high-performing sales team where ambition is encouraged and success is shared
- Hybrid working, with 3 days per week in our Bournemouth office and 2 days from home
- A central Bournemouth location on Holdenhurst Road
- A product with a clear customer value proposition in the construction market
Benefits
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days
- Paid day off on your birthday
- Strong pension scheme
- Life assurance
- Income protection
- Access to an employee assistance programme for you and your family
