Role Overview

Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small teams responsible for all phases of the systems development and implementation process. Provides analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support for client area application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware, technology, and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze organizational needs for application development and interface with clients to ensure systems meet business requirements
  • Oversee applications programming and analysis projects including development, installation and maintenance of application programs
  • Lead analysis of organizational needs for development and implementation of applications
  • Interface regularly with clients and project managers to ensure systems meet business needs and specifications
  • Ensure availability, integrity and stability of production systems by identifying appropriate resources and establishing processes to respond quickly to problems
  • Communicate and enforce strict adherence to development and quality standards, monitoring compliance on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate timely and accurate project-related information to relevant parties
  • Act as an advocate for change management and encourage innovation and creativity in technology solutions
  • Recruit, direct, motivate and develop staff, maximizing individual contribution, professional growth and team effectiveness
  • Manage one or more development teams and contribute to achievement of team objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management and administrative experience required
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industries is a plus
