An opportunity is now open for a Senior Associate or Partner level Chartered Valuation Surveyor to join the thriving, growing and collaborative National Valuation Team in Scotland. The National Valuation Team is expanding, hence this position becoming available.
Level: Senior Associate or Partner
Location: Scotland based. Office in Edinburgh (EH12 9DT) with good links to Tramline and free on-site parking.
Work Type: Remote or hybrid working options available. Permanent, full-time with flexible working hours considered. Field-based role.
Team: National Valuation Team, Red-Book Valuations. You will join a National Team covering England, Wales and Scotland. The Edinburgh hub currently has 5 surveyors and is looking to grow.
Salary: Competitive salary + bonus + employee benefits package.
About the role
You will have a key role in delivering Red Book-compliant valuations for loan security purposes on commercial, residential (owner occupied and investment) as well as commercial and residential development schemes. You will undertake valuations on a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential property, giving you variety and scope to keep your work engaging and high-impact. You will have the opportunity to contribute to larger portfolio valuations and benefit from the shared knowledge of specialists across the UK.
This opportunity suits a MRICS Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer to carry out Red Book valuations, including those for secured loan purposes acting for High Street banks and National Lenders. You will provide valuation advice on a national basis on specialist properties, including trade-related as well as leisure and care sectors.

What you'll be doing
- Carrying out Red Book valuations of commercial and residential properties for secured lending and accounting purposes
- Maximising fee income as a fee earner
- Maximising efficiency and optimising the profitability of work for the team
- Supporting the team in providing high quality valuation advice to a wide range of clients
- Helping to secure business opportunities from client development for the company
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful you must have the following:
- MRICS/FRICS qualified and RICS Registered Valuer status (essential)
- 2 years PQE valuation experience (those close to this criteria would be considered)
- Full driving licence and access to a car
Interview Process
- An initial 10-15 minutes confidential call about the role with recruiter Naomi Corcoran
- Followed by a one-stage interview with the Valuation Faculty Head
