
Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our Commercial Team working on the successful Severn Trent Water account are looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You will support the Commercial team in carrying out normal commercial and contractual duties.
Location: Derby (operating on a hybrid working model, with time split between our Derby office and home working)
Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Team in ensuring compliance with Avove systems and processes
- Work to strict deadlines set by the contract and Avove requirements
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of assigned contracts
- Assist in setting up suitable construction contracts to meet procurement needs
- Prepare accurate financial statements for assigned contracts
- Administer contract requirements, including managing variations to the works
- Maintain records to support claims, time extensions, and variation evaluations
- Manage subcontractor appointments and oversee payment applications and final accounts
- Ensure timely submission of invoices and payment applications to clients
- Support Business Development with information for PQQs and tenders
Skills and experience
- Strong commercial awareness
- Competent with Microsoft packages (particularly Excel)
- Degree qualification or studying towards (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory
- Experience in NEC3 or 4 Contracts would be desirable but not mandatory
