What you’ll be responsible for

As a credible member of the Estates Team you will contribute positively and with high levels of energy to the development of the Estates Team within Lands and Habitat, so that the Estates Team comes to be recognised as an exemplar in the field of Estates Management within the Water Industry.

This will include:

Lead on access, negotiations, Schedules of Condition, and serving of Statutory Notices. Undertake compensation negotiations, acquisition, and purchase of land rights required for operational and capital projects. Ensure smooth delivery of the capital schemes, providing a point of contact for internal teams with regular progress updates and reviews Maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, tenants, and property partners to facilitate cooperation and secure long-term agreements. Support operational teams in resolving land access issues, securing wayleaves, and dealing with land-related constraints. Ensure that all statutory land rights and compulsory purchase powers are exercised in compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. Advise on land valuations, compensation claims, and rent reviews where applicable. Oversee title investigations and resolution of third-party land interests. Supporting the management of Welsh Water's estate and property portfolio in partnership with internal teams. Building positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, acting as a professional representative of Welsh Water. Responding to customer and stakeholder enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Contributing to the continued development and improvement of the Estates Team and its services. About you

You'll have:

Experience working within a utility infrastructure environment, including liaising with landowners and managing land-related matters (such as access agreements, easements, wayleaves, or land rights). Knowledge of property management systems, GIS applications and SAP, or a willingness to develop these skills. A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering excellent service. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. Sound judgement and professionalism when handling enquiries and making decisions. MRICS or CAAV is desirable or working towards a relevant professional qualification but not essential if experienced in utilities work. Good to know

Car allowance provided This role involves travelling to sites approximately 2 to 3 days per week, predominantly across West Wales, with occasional travel to East Wales as required to support operational priorities.
