Facilities Manager

Ocado Logistics - Northern Region Spokes

Permanent • Competitive Salary on offer

Why Ocado?

At Ocado Logistics, our mission is to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners, developing groundbreaking technology, opening multiple sites at an accelerating rate and engaging in exciting new business partnerships around the world — changing the way the world shops, for good.

We are the beating heart of our UK business and comprise a network of cutting edge warehouses and offices across the country that ensure we optimise the experience and use our proprietary technology across the supply chain to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. We deliver bags of possibilities for our employees and a career that will ensure no two days are ever the same.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Facilities Manager to oversee facilities maintenance and improvement activity across a portfolio of northern logistics sites.

The role covers sites in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Gateshead and Stoke-on-Trent. You will work closely with Spoke Operations Managers to identify maintenance and improvement requirements, then coordinate and manage contractors through to completion.

This is a mobile regional facilities role with a strong emphasis on contractor management, service delivery, compliance and stakeholder engagement. You will coordinate multiple contractors across different sites, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget.

The role requires regular travel, typically 2–3 days per week, with the expectation that all spoke sites are visited within a four-week cycle. When not travelling, you will be based either at the Dordon location for part of the week or working from home.

All travel expenses, hotel accommodation and business-related subsistence are provided. Car hire is available when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance and improvement works across the northern spoke network, working with Spoke Operations Managers to identify requirements and coordinate delivery
  • Manage contractors and suppliers: book, brief and oversee contractors, often managing multiple contractors on site at the same time, and ensure supplier services meet agreed service level standards
  • Lead compliance activity: attend and participate in health & safety reviews where appropriate, ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales, maintain accurate documentation, and be present on site for annual fire, health & safety and fire door audits
  • Deliver strong stakeholder service: liaise with onsite clients and operational teams, respond to requests within agreed timescales, and build effective working relationships with contractors, service providers and internal support functions
  • Control spend and support projects

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, autonomous and confident managing multiple priorities across a regional portfolio.

You will ideally have:

  • Facilities or site operations experience — experience in facilities management, building services, site operations or running a small site, with a practical understanding of day-to-day facilities issues
  • Contractor and stakeholder management skills — the ability to manage contractors, coordinate works, communicate clearly and build relationships with operational teams, suppliers and clients
  • Health & safety knowledge — a good working knowledge of health & safety legislation, particularly CDM 2015, and experience supporting compliance activities and audits
  • Strong organisation and customer focus — excellent customer service skills, strong time management, reliability and the ability to work independently while prioritising changing demands

Bonus experience:

Hands-on facilities skills, such as basic plumbing, would be an advantage, and a NEBOSH qualification is preferred but not essential.

Benefits

  • Pension Plan: Secure your future with our pension scheme, featuring up to 7% employer contribution matching
  • Financial Protection: Income Protection and Life Insurance for financial security
  • Wellbeing Support: Access dedicated apps and an Employee Assistance Programme for holistic well-being
  • Private Medical Cover: Comprehensive private medical insurance
  • Generous Leave: Growing after 5 years, with an option to buy more
  • Family-Friendly: Maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, and paternity leave
  • Share Schemes: Participate in exciting share plans
  • Lifestyle benefits: Cycle to Work scheme, car salary sacrifice, and more
  • Shopping Perks: 15% discount on Ocado.com and savings at popular retailers, days out, and restaurants

Our Commitment

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments to support you through the recruitment process.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident employer, prioritising inclusivity and equal opportunities for all individuals, ensuring a supportive and accessible workplace for people with disabilities.
