Industrial Placement Quantity Surveyor
Location: Falmer, East Sussex
Starting Salary: £27,976 per annum
Pathway: 12 Months – 40hrs per week, with the potential to lead onto a Graduate position

About the Role
As an Industrial Placement Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of infrastructure projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying. You will be working in the Water sector and assist on projects for our Southern Water Framework across East Sussex.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Manage commercial resources of the project
- Assist in maximising gross profit for projects
- Assess, review, and mitigate commercial/contractual risks as well as value work executed by sub-contractors
- Help prepare and submit tenders and contract documents
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements

What We're Looking For
- Degree (or working towards a degree) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrates a genuine interest in pursuing a career in quantity surveying and the construction industry, with clear motivation to learn and develop professionally
- Demonstrates numerical confidence and the ability to use data to support decision-making (with support and development where required)
- Shows enthusiasm for learning new skills and knowledge, and the ability to adapt in response to feedback
- Works effectively as part of a team, demonstrating collaboration, reliability, and respect for others
- Hold a full UK driver license
Eligibility: Students undertaking a degree in Quantity Surveying who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2027 - 2028. After your placement, you'll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2029.
