Your role
We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Midlands team, based in either Derby or Nottingham. You will work across a wide range of projects supporting clients on complex and high-value programmes, with an initial emphasis on the Water sector.
Working with clients across the public and private sector, you will use your skills – technical and others – to share your knowledge, expertise, and experience, and ultimately to deliver fantastic services.
- Work collaboratively with our clients and their supply chain partners to develop/deliver solutions to complex and dynamic problems
- Pull on your commercial and procurement expertise to advise and help deliver a wide range of commercial, procurement and supply chain requirements
- Focus on ensuring maximum value within the supply chain eco-system for our clients
- Work with our national infrastructure clients operating with a growth mindset to build relationships with key clients

About you
Essential experience and qualifications:
- A Managing Quantity Surveyor with experience in major programmes and complex infrastructure within construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil and gas or UK Public Sector organisation
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial/construction discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience gained through practice
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or an equivalent recognised body
- Experience with construction contracts such as NEC, JCT, FIDIC and able to confidently produce and advise clients on their application
- Experience of dispute avoidance, with the ability to identify commercial or contractual issues early, manage them proactively and support timely resolution before they escalate
- Experience of line management or leading a team, with the ability to provide clear direction, manage performance and support individual development
- Ability to work in a client facing environment, alongside multidisciplinary teams of colleagues, clients and partners to deliver solutions to complex client or industry challenges
- Strong communication and stakeholder management experience, with the ability to engage across complex stakeholder environments, utilising a range of informative communication tools to support buy-in across the organisation
- Ability and willingness to develop technical and consulting skills in order to deliver excellent service to our clients, representing the AtkinsRéalis brand to the best of their ability
- Business development and win-work experience, such as bid writing, pre-contract engagement, client relationship management
