Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Aureos is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in Ashford, working within the Rail Business Unit as part of the Commercial team. The Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results, with core responsibilities encompassing project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.

Aureos Rail works collaboratively with customers to deliver critical national infrastructure projects across the UK's rail network.

Primary responsibilities

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:

• Capably submit applications and control credit processes
• Understand income forecast and pricing of variations
• Understand the change control system
• Understand project risk
• Produce cost value reconciliation (CVRs) with support
• Produce cost to complete with support
• Understand the production of forecasting data
• Understand the costing process
• Understand the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
• Assist with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams
• Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements
• Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries
• Attend project progress meetings
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports
• Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business

Performance expectations
