Location: Gatwick / Heathrow Airport

Work model: Hybrid, 3 + 2 days with travel to client sites as required

About the role

You will be responsible for providing commercial guidance and expertise and ensuring that challenging projects are delivered on time and on budget. You will develop commercial strategies to ensure that risks and opportunities are identified and managed, and manage claims and submissions to ensure that margin is protected and enhanced and working capital recovered in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and execute project commercial strategies and monitor budget, estimate and completion and S-curve analysis
  • Guide and influence the Project Manager on commercial risks and opportunities. Preparation and submission of scope and time claims and variations
  • Maximise commercial opportunity to enhance margins and improve working capital position. Preparation and submission of applications for payments and accounts
  • Appraise and respond to sub-contractor and supplier applications and claims. Preparation of Pre-Contract Quantified Schedules of Rates for tender returns

Requirements

  • Previous experience within Quantity Surveying / Project Commercial Management with experience in a construction contracting environment
  • Proven ability to work with a variety of standard form and bespoke contracts and applicable statute
  • Proven track record of successfully developing, implementing and executing project commercial strategies and leading the Project Manager on commercial risks and opportunities
  • Ability to develop successful claims and recovery and defence of both upstream and downstream claims
  • Ability to provide and present clear, concise and accurate reports in varying media and proficiency within Microsoft Office package (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable working within a site environment
  • Familiar with regular use to a high level of Document Management Systems including Asite, Acconex, EB & BC
  • Deliverable Schedules Creation & Management with great attention to detail carrying out QA processes
  • Ability to work under tight program and commercial constraints
  • First Aid Training advantageous but not essential
