The Role

This is a highly visible Facilities Manager position with responsibility for the effective operation, compliance and continuous improvement of our facilities. You'll work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver a facilities strategy that supports business growth while maintaining exceptional standards of safety, sustainability and operational excellence. You'll also play an important role in supporting the development of future international facilities as our global footprint expands.

Key Responsibilities

Developing Facilities Strategy

  • Creating and delivering a long-term facilities strategy aligned to business growth
  • Driving continuous improvement across facilities, workplace services and building infrastructure
  • Standardising policies, procedures and best practices across multiple locations
  • Leading sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency and environmental performance

Supporting International Growth

  • Leading facilities planning activities for new international locations
  • Supporting site selection, mobilisation and operational readiness
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulations and health and safety requirements
  • Partnering with HR, IT, Operations and leadership teams during facility launches

Managing Workplace Operations

  • Overseeing day-to-day facilities management activities
  • Managing maintenance, cleaning, security and space utilisation
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and statutory requirements
  • Delivering preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime
  • Supporting emergency response planning and business continuity initiatives
  • Line managing and developing the Facilities Coordinator

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Leading supplier and contractor relationships
  • Negotiating contracts and driving commercial value
  • Managing service delivery against SLAs and KPIs
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

Financial Management

  • Managing facilities budgets and expenditure
  • Preparing forecasts and investment proposals
  • Supporting capital projects and facilities-related investments

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for facilities management
  • Advising senior leaders on facilities risks, opportunities and improvements
  • Building strong relationships across the organisation to deliver an exceptional workplace experience

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Facilities Management experience within a commercial, technical, engineering, manufacturing or laboratory environment
  • Proven experience establishing, opening or managing international facilities
  • Strong contractor, supplier and vendor management expertise
  • Demonstrable contract negotiation experience
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation, building compliance and statutory requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing facilities strategies
  • Budget management and cost-control experience

Important Information

  • On-site presence in Abingdon is required
  • Occasional international travel may be required
  • Ability to respond to facilities-related issues outside normal working hours when required
  • All new UK team members are asked to work on site at Abingdon during their first three months. Flexible, hybrid working is offered where possible upon completion of probation.

Infinitesima develops atomic-precision 3D metrology technology for the semiconductor industry.
