About the role

You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Norwich in partnership with National Highways, shaping the future of travel at the A47 Thickthorn junction. Two new free‑flowing slip roads will ease congestion and improve connections between the A47 and A11 — saving commuters and businesses hundreds of hours every week.

Our Infrastructure team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor who will lead the commercial management of the project, ensuring effective cost control, forecasting, subcontract management, and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee change management process ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Prepare Defined Cost submissions to National Highways Site Representatives. Lead on progressive cost assurance under Cl50.9.
  • Oversee subcontract procurement and Cl26 approvals and manage key subcontracts.
  • Provide ongoing development to team of Quantity Surveyors and Graduates.
  • Utilise Site Commercial and Document Systems (Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise, Forecasting Tools).
  • Produce robust cost forecasting and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • NEC Contract Knowledge.
  • Confident communicator, able to deliver clear, structured and effective presentations to project stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of managing subcontractors.
  • Experience of commercial audits.
  • Proven ability to achieve timely agreement of changes in line with contractual requirements.
  • Highways Experience.
