About the Opportunity

Amentum has a requirement for a motivated new member of our expanding Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater, Somerset) team, operating within the Commercial function. The candidate will be expected to be qualified to degree level in a Commercial related discipline to support a multi-million pound framework contract.

The role will be predominantly site based at Hinkley Point C, to develop working relationships with the project delivery and procurement teams and both Clients' and Subcontractors' representatives. An appreciation for the need for meticulous data management is essential. Experience in an engineering field and/or a wider construction background is helpful, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Commercial Manager and Project Controls team to support the delivery of the commercial function of the framework
  • Develop in person working relationships with Amentum, Client and Subcontract teams to effectively deliver contract requirements
  • Support the execution of NEC3 forms of contract activities including preparation of applications for payment, tracking pricing and implementation of change, supporting drafting of early warnings
  • Gather evidence to support main contract applications and fulfil contract audit requirements
  • Provide support for Project Controls and Cost Engineers in order to submit cost reports for review by the Commercial Manager, to enable the utilisation of the data for cost forecasts, revenue, and gross margin assumptions/submissions
  • Maintain Sub-Contract packages currently in place, specifically undertaking application assessments and controlling change
  • Ensure correct administrative processes are adhered to for Sub-Contracts paying to ensure main contract compliance

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar related subject
  • Some previous Quantity Surveying or Commercial Contract Management work experience
  • Working knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally with specific focus on the NEC forms of contract
  • Security Cleared or the ability to obtain the required level of clearance
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate confidently and work well under pressure
  • Hands on with a can-do attitude and excellent work ethic and the ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Locally based or willing to be based on site
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programmes and general competence with IT
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the UK
