You’ll play a key role in delivering critical building and infrastructure works, from ventilation systems and pipework to demolition and new-build structures, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and commercially optimised.About the role As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the commercial and contractual performance across a portfolio of projects. Working closely with project managers, procurement, and supply chain partners, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring financial accuracy, contract compliance, and value-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This is not just about managing costs, it’s about challenging them, understanding them, and improving them. You’ll be involved from pre-award stages (PQQ/ITT) through to delivery, ensuring the right commercial strategies are in place to deliver successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities

Provide commercial leadership and support across multiple projects Manage contractual relationships with suppliers, ensuring full compliance with NEC frameworks Lead on cost forecasting, financial reporting, and spend control Scrutinise supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with Schedule of Cost Components (NEC) Challenge costs, assumptions, and methodologies to drive value and efficiency Support pre-award activities, including tender evaluation and contract strategy Collaborate with procurement and project teams during PQQ and ITT stages Maintain accurate and robust commercial records and reporting Support risk management and contribute to project risk registers Provide guidance to junior QSs where required About you You’re not someone who simply accepts numbers, you interrogate them. Key Requirements & Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of contract management and project delivery Experience working with NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4) Demonstrable experience in cost forecasting and financial control Exposure to pre-award processes (PQQ, ITT, tender evaluation) Ability to analyse and challenge supplier cost submissions in detail Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Essentials

Experience managing or supporting commercial delivery across multiple contracts Understanding of Schedule of Cost Components within NEC frameworks Experience using commercial systems such as FastDraft (or similar platforms such as CIMA) Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables

Desirable

Experience within utilities or large-scale infrastructure projects Knowledge of building services (ventilation, pipework, structural works) Professional membership (e.g. RICS / CICES Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members Why Apply?
