Quantity Surveyor - Life Property Construction

Location: Office based, Market Deeping. Travel to sites nationwide.

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 depending on experience, car allowance

About the Role

Due to ongoing expansion, LPC are looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee the procurement and cost management of developments nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake tender and procurement objectives across all projects.
  • Lead all aspects of quantity surveying service on all projects.
  • Attend and/or chair meetings with clients and ensure that our clients achieve their stated objectives.
  • Prepare financial reports including monthly CVRs.
  • Monitor the communication of a project status.
  • Provide advice on suitability and preparation of contract documents.
  • Prepare management reports including detailed costed risk registers and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor performance milestones and deliverables alongside the Contracts Manager for optimal performance.
  • Carry out full post-contract surveying duties including establishing the effect of variations, cost planning and settlement of accounts and disputes.
  • Work closely with site teams to address any project issues and conduct risk assessments and contingency planning to address potential project challenges.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports to clients, highlighting project status, financial performance, and risks.
  • Management and mentorship of junior members of the team, where needed.
  • Support the commercial team with estimating and pre-construction tasks.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience in a similar QS role.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a similar subject.
  • Strong analytical approach to identifying and managing costs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prior experience working in a quantity surveying/cost management role carrying out full pre and post-contract duties in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in working on large-scale projects from conception through to completion.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiar with common forms of contracts JCT and NEC.
